After extensive negotiations, ZOB and ZID have agreed to permit controllers who are duly certified to control at the S1, S2 or S3 level by their home ARTCC to control non-major fields at the other participating ARTCC without need to obtain visitor status or special training.
In English, if you are an S2 controller at ZOB, you can control any non-major field in ZID at up to the S2 level. If a ZID controller is certified to the S3 level, he can come and control any non-major field in ZOB up to the S3 level.
This policy is going into effect on January 21, 2018.
We believe this will encourage more controllers to join both ARTCC's and provides a very nice benefit to our members. There will be links posted in Teamspeak for further information and I am posting the new policy for your review today in the LOA section of our downloads.
Please note: you are REQUIRED to familiarize yourself with the relevant SOP's and ARTCC policies should you choose to take advantage of this new program. Also, you will be required to be present in the teamspeak of the relevant ARTCC in which you are controlling for any session. You will be held to the same level o professionalism as you would if you were controlling in your home ARTCC. If you have questions, feel free to reach out to myself or ZID leadership.
